Every coach knows culture wins.

Almost none of them have a plan for it.

You script the team drills down to the second. You have a practice plan for every day of the week. But trust, standards, and team chemistry get left to chance.

Then February comes. The losing streak hits, the locker room rumor spreads, a starter goes down, and all that talent falls apart because nobody built the foundation before the earthquake.

Those hard moments do not build character. They reveal whether you built it beforehand.

This is the plan for building it beforehand.

Any team sport

Basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, baseball. The G.R.E.A.T. model works wherever a group of individuals has to become a team.

Any level

Middle school through college. If you lead athletes and want a program where they play for each other, the plan fits your season.

Ready to GO

Every session is scripted step by step, most of them fifteen minutes or less, so you are never guessing what to say in front of your team.

What is Inside the Action Plan Handbook?

This is not a book to admire on a shelf. It is a system you run, most moves fifteen minutes or less.

  • A 20 week culture plan mapped to your real season. Five phases that follow your actual calendar, from preseason through postseason, with the heavy lifting front loaded where it belongs. Culture becomes something you coach on purpose instead of something you hope happens.
  • The G.R.E.A.T. Culture Model, broken into runnable moves. Goals, Relationships, Expectations, Accountability, and Thanks. The five things you can directly influence all season, turned into small weekly actions.
  • A Five Essentials Quick Start. For the coach who opens this in August and only has time for what matters most. Start here, run the five, come back for the rest.
  • Ready to run team sessions. The Standards Session, the Operating Instructions activity, the Animal personality styles session, and more. Step by step, so you always know what to say.
  • The POINT model for the hard conversation. A simple way to have the talk you have been avoiding, before it costs you your best athletes.
  • A Culture Killers field guide. The five behaviors that quietly rot a team, the Exempt Star, the Checked-Out Veteran, the Silo, the Rearview Critic, and the Quiet Withdrawal, and how to address each one early.
  • Copy and paste team texts and a weekly Five-Minute Check. Micro touches for the moments in a season that most warrant a message, plus a fast weekly self-check so you stay coachable too.
  • An online Toolbox of Resources. Downloadable printable handouts and tools that extend the book, available to every reader as added value with your purchase.

A weekly plan that follows your real season

Five phases, twenty weeks, weighted so the heavy building happens before the season tests it.

  • Weeks 1 to 4 —  Build the foundation. Goals and Relationships. The heaviest lift, building trust
  • Weeks 5 to 8 —  Early Season. Make expectations visible. Set the standard everyone will be held to.
  • Weeks 9 to 12 —  Mid Season. Hold the line. The grind. Accountability when it is hardest to keep.
  • Weeks 13 to 16 —  Late Season. Push and refill. The stretch run. Accountability and Thanks.
  • Weeks 17 to 20 —  Focus on legacy. Close the loop with reflection and gratitude.

Who Created The Culture Action Plan?

Sean Glaze spent more than twenty years as a basketball coach before founding Great Results Teambuilding. He has since worked with organizations including Cisco, John Deere, the CDC, Emory University, and dozens of others across industries, helping leaders build cultures where people actually want to show up and give their best.

He is a National Speakers Association member, a PeopleKeys Certified DISC Facilitator for Team Personality Types, and the author of five leadership books. He works with groups of 8 to 800 people as a workplace culture speaker both in person and virtually.

The wins fade. The record gets forgotten.

What your athletes carry for the rest of their lives is who they became on your team…

Build that on purpose. Start this season.
